VIRGINIA NUMISMATIC ASSOCIATION
ABOUT US:
The VNA is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit club. Our mission is to encourage and promote numismatic interest in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
A heartfelt THANK YOU to all the volunteers who gave of their time and effort at the 65th Annual VNA Convention. The Convention would not be possible without you.
Robbery! – Be on the lookout for coins stolen from the Annandale Coin Show in December 2023. A list of these stolen coins is available here.
Many were PCGS or NGC slabbed, high grade, Imperial Russian coins from 5 Kopeks to 5 Rubles and fully identifiable by looking at their images at PCGS and NGC.
Many US and foreign gold coins were also taken.
Talk with Parry Bragg by phone at 804 652-9183 if you see any of these stolen coins.
SCAM! – Beware, several VNA Officers' emails have been hijacked and spoofing scammers are sending out requests for gifts cards and Zelle payments.
No VNA officer will ever email you asking for money. Please be careful and check, not just the name, but the return email, to verify that the sender’s email matches with those listed for VNA officers in this newsletter.
New Show Opportunity - A new promoter coin show has been added to the 2024-25 Calendar for December. The venue is located in Mechanicsville, VA.
The 65th Annual VNA Convention was September 25 - 28, 2024
The 2024 Coin Convention Pictures page is currently being constructed.

A Letter From Our President
President’s Message This will probably be the last president’s message I will send to the VNA members due to a fall in July has brought to my mind the fact that I can be hurt. I am not invulnerable. Due to the fall, I recused myself from the last election, and will not be continuing as President of the VNA. We need another to take my place. If George Watson, the current VNA Vice President, cannot serve as president, and does not continue as vice president, we will also need a new vice president in 2025. We just finished the VNA convention at the Raceway in Henrico County and I was heartened by the number of volunteers that showed up to help with everything. I hope this continues next year for the 2025 VNA Convention. Despite all the efforts put into trying to attract more dealers and exhibitors, it did not appear to be a success. We had fewer dealers, poor public attendance, and fewer exhibits compared to last year. I hope this is not a trend. Richard Schornak and I spent great effort to inform dealers and the numismatic community about the convention and its venue change from Fredericksburg to Richmond, but to little effect. I heard complaints about everything from new location to the food at the Banquet. I got one call at the show about where we were and why we were not in Fredericksburg as in the past, but the caller had not looked at the mailer and seen the new location. All we can do is the best we can do. Thanks to all who helped at the show and I hope you all will be helping at the convention next year. I will still be a VNA board member for the next two years and still plan to be attending shows and coin club meetings as in the past. I just don’t want the mantle on my shoulders as president, as shouldered the last few years. I hope all have a great holiday season and that next year’s show will be a fantastic convention. I will be seeing many of you in the future. Thanks to all who have helped me in the past and I hope our contact will continue into the future. Parry Bragg - VNA President
