VIRGINIA NUMISMATIC ASSOCIATION

ABOUT US:
The VNA is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit club. Our mission is to encourage and promote numismatic interest in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
News: The VNA 66th Annual Convention will be held in Fredericksburg, VA in September 2025. Check the 2025 Calendar for updates. Robbery! – Be on the lookout for coins stolen from the Annandale Coin Show in December 2023. A list of these stolen coins is available here. Many were PCGS or NGC slabbed, high grade, Imperial Russian coins from 5 Kopeks to 5 Rubles and fully identifiable by looking at their images at PCGS and NGC. Many US and foreign gold coins were also taken. Talk with Parry Bragg by phone at 804 652-9183 if you see any of these stolen coins.SCAM! – Beware, several VNA Officers' emails have been hijacked and spoofing scammers are sending out requests for gifts cards and Zelle payments. No VNA officer will ever email you asking for money. Please be careful and check, not just the name, but the return email, to verify that the sender’s email matches with those listed for VNA officers in this newsletter. Club Updates: Central VA Coin Club has a new meeting location and monthly meeting date, and their coin show location for 2025 has changed. Monticello Coin Club has a new meeting location as of February 24, 2025. Their coin show location for 2025 has changed as well. A Letter From Our President

President’s Message I have a few important things to speak about after the last VNA Board meeting. I am recovered from my fall back in late July of 2024.Officer Changes - With the consent of the officers and Board of the VNA, Ihave been asked to resume the office of President and have accepted. GeorgeWatson, Vice President has asked to be removed, and with the consent and vote of the officers and Board, Richard Schornak has volunteered as VicePresident. 2025 Convention Location - With the consent and vote of the Board and officers, we have decided to move the VNA Convention back to Fredericksburg at the original location. Only after this decision had been made did I hear positive comments about the Richmond Raceway as the convention location and about the convention itself. I am hoping that with this move we will have more than enough volunteers both from Central Virginia and from Northern Virginia. We had to change the date of the convention to Sept.18-20, 2025. I personally like the location at the Richmond Raceway, however, I feel there is a stigma about Richmond, even though the location is Henrico County.I hope this proves to be successful and that the convention for 2025turns out well. Please be careful at shows and in life and I hope to seemany of you in the future and I hope these messages meet yourapproval. Thanks to all who have helped me in the past and I hope our contact will continue into the future. Parry Bragg - VNA President
